"Still Living In The Past": Jethro Tull anuncia reedición ampliada de "Living In The Past" en box set de cinco discos

La banda inglesa Jethro Tull informó que lanzará el 11 de julio, vía Parlophone/Warner Music, una caja de cinco discos de su álbum recopilatorio doble de 1972 “Living In The Past”, con el nombre de “Still Living In The Past”.
El clásico compilado original fue una colección de pistas en estudio, tomas descartadas y varios sencillos independientes que abarcaban la carrera de la banda hasta ese momento, incluido el EP “Life Is A Long Song” de 1971, así como dos grabaciones en vivo tomadas de una actuación en el Carnegie Hall de Nueva York en noviembre de 1970.
El conjunto recientemente ampliado, que también estará disponible como una edición de vinilo doble, incluye remezclas de Steven Wilson, temas editados, demos, el registro “Live At Carnegie Hall 1970” remezclado y cuatro videos promocionales.
“Después de 53 años de su lanzamiento primigenio, esta colección con las remezclas de Steven Wilson y mejoras de sonido envolvente es una magnífica incorporación a la serie de álbumes de Tull”, señaló el líder del grupo Ian Anderson. “Se concibió en su momento principalmente para actualizar la historia de la banda para el público estadounidense y europeo que tal vez no se hubiera beneficiado de las numerosas canciones que ya habían llegado a los oídos de los fans del Reino Unido”.
“Recuerdo las grabaciones de muchas de estas canciones con sorprendente claridad”, agregó “y algunas aún puedo tocarlas de memoria sin dudarlo. Con su peculiaridad en algunos casos y su alcance en una amplia gama de estilos musicales, demuestra mis intentos de ampliar mi composiciones y arreglos, y de desarrollarme más allá de los orígenes más roqueros y bluseros de la banda. Mis temas de mandolina y guitarra acústica se encuentran entre mis favoritos”.
Anderson concluye que “compuesto por sencillos, caras A y B, además de una variedad de canciones, incluyendo el EP «Life Is A Long Song», reúne los numerosos temas grabados entre los lanzamientos de los tres primeros álbumes y el álbum “Thick As A Brick”. Y, por supuesto, el concierto en vivo grabado en el Carnegie Hall de Nueva York refleja la actuación de la banda en todo su esplendor de 1970. Estoy muy feliz de que este material esté disponible nuevamente y felicito al equipo de Parlophone/Warner Music y a los colaboradores que lo hicieron posible”.
