"Zappa Original Motion Picture Soundtrack": editan banda sonora del nuevo documental sobre Frank Zappa Martes, 01 de Diciembre de 2020 El soundtrack de “Zappa”, el celebrado documental estrenado en noviembre de Alex Winter sobre el fallecido guitarrista, cantante y compositor estadounidense, será publicado el próximo año a través de Zappa Records/UMe en vinilo y cedé. “Zappa Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” ya está disponible en servicios de streaming. En tanto, el formato físico llegará en tres formatos de lujo: una versión en tres cedés que estará disponible desde el 19 de febrero, en un box set de cinco vinilos negros de 180 gramos que se lanzará el 07 de mayo y, finalmente, en una edición limitada en vinilo “smoke” de 180 gramos de manera exclusiva en zappa.com, uDiscover y la tienda de música online Sound of Vinyl. Tanto las versiones físicas como digitales incluyen 12 temas inéditas, extraídos de actuaciones en el Whiskey A Go-Go de Hollywood en la ciudad de Los Ángeles, California, en 1968, en el Fillmore West de San Francisco en 1970 y la recordada performance de ‘Dancin’ Fool’ en el programa de televisión “Saturday Night Live” en 1978. La banda de sonido abarca el extenso catálogo de Zappa con 25 canciones adicionales de su incomparable e influyente carrera, desde su seminal álbum doble debut de 1966 con Mothers of Invention, “Freak Out !”, hasta el último lanzamiento de su vida, T”he Yellow Shark” de 1993, este último un concierto en vivo orquestal interpretado por el Ensemble Modern en Europa en 1992. Además, el soundtrack incluye canciones de los sellos discográficos de Zappa, Straight y Bizarre Records, entre ellos, temas de Alice Cooper y del grupo coral femenino The GTOs, del que Zappa produjo el álbum “Permanent Damage”. A su vez, trae dos composiciones clásicas inspiradas en Edgard Varese e Igor Stravinsky, así como varios clips de entrevistas. La banda sonora se completa con 26 pistas de partitura originales recientemente compuestas por John Frizzell para el documental. También estará disponible una edición en vinilo doble transparente de 180 gramos y una edición digital de 21 pistas, reuniendo ocho de las grabaciones inéditas del archivo de Zappa, la actuación de “Saturday Night Live” y 13 grabaciones de la extensa carrera discográfica de Zappa.
